The 89th Annual Pilgrimage to Thewatte Basilika at Ragama held on 15th January 2020 was immensely successful. This is the first event in De Mazenod College School Calendar. Parents of Grade 1 students were delighted to join in this Pilgrimage. All the staff members from Grade 1 to 13 walked in faith to the Shrine leading the procession accompanied by the cyclists from the main entrance of Basilika premises leading to the Basilka Church. The statue of Mother Mary was gracefully taken in a beautifully decorated Chariot. After celebrating the Holy Mass the prayer consecrating the school to Mother Mary was recited. The event solemnly ended at 10.00 a.m. Rev. Bro. Janaka Fonseka, Principal of De Mazenod College, Kandana delivered the vote of thanks to all the participants and all those who worked to make this event a great success.
